Dossier Fleet Maintenance
Vendor-source researchDossier is a long-established fleet maintenance information system (FMIS) originally built by Arsenault Associates and now sold as AMCS Fleet Maintenance after AMCS acquired Dossier Systems. It is a purpose-built maintenance platform, not a telematics or field-service tool: PM scheduling, repair/work orders with full histories, parts inventory control with auto-reordering, fuel and cost-per-mile/hour tracking, hierarchical asset lifecycle tracking (chassis, body, engine, attachments as separate components), warranty and recall/campaign management, DOT compliance documentation, and VMRS coding. Now cloud-hosted on Azure with a mobile-first shop-floor interface. It integrates with third-party telematics (Geotab, GPS Insight, Omnitracs, PeopleNet, Zonar) but ships no native GPS hardware of its own.
- Best fit
- Mid-to-large heavy-duty fleets, private carriers, and municipal/government motor pools that need deep, maintenance-first shop management (VMRS coding, DOT documentation, full cost control) rather than a lightweight app.
